about
GC's first release from the E=GC2 EP is the beautifully light and soulful Future (Breaks), a guitar led track featuring the sultry vocals of Genius Collective's leading lady Kezia Johnson, who's sound has been compared to that of Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill & Jill Scott to name but a few. Future fuses guitar, keys, bass and live drums alongside an impressive saxophone harmony providing a backdrop for story to be told of a love that has come to an end.
Future (Breaks) will be released via Bandcamp and on the 9th May 2011!

lyrics
Verse 1:
All that drama,
All that hating,
I've been dealing with,
On my own,
All that stressing,
Time I was spending,
Thinking of us,
You were gone,
So where's that love,
That we once had,
Is gone,
And all the trust and communication,
That we once shared,
It's gone
Chorus:
I see a future,
A Future
Waiting There for me,
To touch,
It's Looking brighter and lighter,
Shining down on me,
To Excel
Verse 2:
You're so distant,
You don't even listen,
Why can't you just see,
What's going on,
I'm tired of trying,
While you're busy hiding,
We should just be brave,
And move on,
Cos there's no love,
That we once had,
Is gone,
And all the trust and communication,
That we once shared,
It's gone
Chorus:
I see a future,
A Future
Waiting There for me,
To touch,
And It's Looking brighter and lighter,
Shining down on me,
To Excel
Outro:
You were like my best friend,
I told you everything,
But the truth enlies between the lies,
So boy you better read and write,
Read and Write.
